Citrine is transparent to translucent, with colours ranging from clear yellow to golden yellow, its name is derived from the Latin "Citrus", French word for "citron", meaning Lemon. It is sometimes referred to as gold topaz, or Spanish topaz. It belongs to the quartz family. It can be found in Spain, United States, Brazil, Madagascar and Scotland. Natural citrine is rare.
